LIFE NEREiDE project at Transportation Research Board (TRB), in Washington DC

The presentation of the life NEREiDE project (LIFE15 ENV/IT/000268) was held within the AFD30(2) Sustainable Pavements Subcommittee at the Transportation Research Board (TRB) 97th Annual Meeting, which was held January 7–11, 2018, at the Walter E. Washington Convention Center, in Washington D.C.

TRB is a program unit of the National Academy of Sciences, Engineering and Medicine, a non-profit organization that provides independent, objective, and interdisciplinary solutions. TRB manages transportation research by producing publications and online resources. It convenes experts that help to develop solutions to problems and issues facing transportation professionals. TRB also provides advice through its policy studies that tackle complex and often controversial issues of national significance.

Specifically, the AFD30(2) Sustainable Pavements Subcommittee aims to identify methodologies and applied research to improve the sustainability of transportation systems in the context of highway and airfield pavement engineering, including the definition, measurement and assessment of the degree of sustainability, together with means of enhancing pavements’ sustainability and developing more sustainable materials, construction practices and pavement management approaches into the discipline of pavement engineering.
